Gylt rating9/3/2023 ![]() ![]() There is always a sense of intrigue to play something new on a new platform so I had to jump in and see what this one had up its sleeve. ![]() ![]() Gylt is developed by Tequila Works and we believe a timed exclusive to the brand new Google Stadia platform. At the time of writing though however, there is an exclusive that can be claimed as part of a Stadia Pro subscription and that game is titled Gylt. Less, however, if he doesn’t want to devote himself to collecting and repeating the experience for the hard-earned and well-deserved platinum.I have been using the Google Stadia for a little over three weeks now and whilst I am impressed with the way the service runs and performs, there is a distinct lack of games especially exclusive titles. Gylt, net of the small inevitable flaws for a production of this kind, in any case manages to keep the player glued to it for about eight hours. While still an experience involving certain emotions, you have to think of it as a multi-layered production which, as Shrek would say, is like onions. However, if they never fight ferociously and are not totally aware of our presence, it is because the management in this respect has not been proposed in a coherent way with the sense of anxiety that the team has been able to finely propose. The artificial intelligence of the enemies, however, is what we contest the most, net of the many situations that can be found. Under this approach there is nothing new or particularly innovative, the more essential but still effective to achieve the goal and differentiate the scenarios and the various approaches to game design. Furthermore, to avoid their attention, he can use it as a diversion or, as the good Assassin’s Creed teaches, throw something to attract the creatures in another direction than the one in which he has to go. While Sally can use her flashlight to illuminate her surroundings, on the other hand it is also capable of sowing its tracks, hiding behind any piece of furniture that allows it to get to another to avoid enemies in this way. We used a torch to advance in the various levels proposed within the experience, which do not interrupt the action or the story and therefore go straight to the point. Choosing linearity in a market where by now any video game offers open worlds is a courageous and commendable choice, because it allows you to enjoy an experience with carefree and contentment. The work, from the beginning to the end, knows how to involve but never really agitates, making one perceive as if it does not really want to press hard on the conviction and let the adventure not get lost. In the case of Gylt, in fact, what is shown is incredible: there are kids forced to drink bath water, sudden pulling of underwear, teasing, brutal words written on blackboards and exhortations to suicide that give the narrative something more. What about her is revealed in front of her, in addition to being disturbing, conveys anger towards the player, an anger that anyone would feel when an injustice perpetrated by bullies occurs. Through her own eyes, while she searches everywhere for her cousin, she enters the school they both attend. Sally finds herself in a completely destroyed town, as if a hurricane had suddenly struck and wiped out everything, even her dreams. Already, Gylt is scary and disturbing to the point of being not just any story, but something more thanks to its ghostly atmospheres. In short, having created this approach, there is the other side of the coin, namely the more horror aspect of the production. The story conveys an important and well-structured message, thanks to a well-blended and proposed writing that reaches its goal. ![]() Considering that we do not intend to give you spoilers or tell you too much, we would like to reassure you on one point: Gylt is an original story that proposes important issues on which it is better to reflect at length, especially in a complex moment like ours, where awareness towards of certain themes is reduced to the bone. ![]()
